Mini Lacquer Tray MIMO Square Blackberry
Blackberry is a deep, saturated colour with a red
core and a cool, berry undertone. In high gloss it
never looks flat: the raised rim reads almost
black-red, while the centre lightens exactly where
the light falls. A small tray therefore carries a
colour that shifts with the daylight and with its
place in the room.
The mirroring surface picks up whatever stands on
it. White biscuit porcelain by Hering Berlin gains
a clear outline against the dark ground, and the
grey and white EVA porcelain vase by Reichenbach
appears calmer and at the same time more present
on blackberry than on a pale surface. Both pieces
are sold separately in our shop.
At 20 x 20 cm the square does more than carry, it
frames. On light stone, on a console or on a
sideboard it sets a clear dark plane and gathers
what would otherwise lie around: keys, jewellery,
a cup of espresso, a small vase.
MIMO is made from an elaborately lacquered MDF
wood body, finished with high gloss, food-safe
acrylic lacquer. The edges are cleanly worked and
the height of 2.5 cm keeps the tray flat and

How big is the MIMO blackberry tray?
It measures 20 x 20 cm with a height of 2.5 cm, so
it fits on a console, a bedside table or a shelf
without taking up much room.
What is the tray made of?
The body is MDF wood, elaborately lacquered and
finished with a high gloss, food-safe acrylic
lacquer.
May I place pastries or pralines directly on it?
Yes. The acrylic lacquer is food-safe. It is not
meant to be used as a cutting board, as sharp
edges and pointed objects will mark the lacquer.
How do I care for the high gloss surface?
Hand wash only and wipe dry. Not for the
dishwasher, not for microwave or oven and never
exposed to prolonged moisture.
How does blackberry work in a room?
Deep and berry-like with a red core. The gloss
gives the colour depth: the rim looks almost
black-red, the centre lighter, depending on how
the light falls.
Does blackberry suit light furniture?
Yes. On light stone, a pale console or a white
sideboard the dark plane sets a calm contrast and
visibly gathers small objects.
