Which brands do you carry?
The core of the range is Caran d'Ache of Geneva, with the 849 series, the Ecridor line and the Fixpencil. Alongside them we carry Kaweco, Leuchtturm 1917 with the DREHGRIFFEL, Graf von Faber-Castell, Aurora and Delta.
What is the difference between a fountain pen, a rollerball and a ballpoint?
A fountain pen writes with a nib and liquid ink, which gives the softest line. A rollerball also uses liquid ink but in a refill, so it writes almost as softly with no nib to look after. A ballpoint uses a paste and is the most robust of the three.
What is a lead holder or Fixpencil?
A pencil for thick leads, usually 2 mm, released by a push button. Caran d'Ache have made the Fixpencil since 1929 and it is still a fixture in architecture practices.
Can I get refills and spare parts?
We stock refills for the Caran d'Ache models, including the Goliath ballpoint refill. If you are after a particular refill, ask us, we can usually order it in.
Does a pen make a good gift?
It does, and it is one of the few gifts where neither size nor taste has to be pinned down in advance. We can add a matching case and emboss it with initials.
