BLEU CALANQUE. A SHADE OF THE MEDITERRANEAN.
Some colours immediately bring a place to mind.
Jacques Herbin Bleu Calanque captures the luminous
blue of the Mediterranean, touched with a subtle
hint of green.
Its name refers to the calanques, the dramatic
rocky coves along the coast of southern France.
Here, clear water shifts between vivid blue and
turquoise as the light changes throughout the day.
On paper, Bleu Calanque feels bright, fresh and
expressive. It gives handwritten letters, personal
notes and greeting cards a distinctive character
while remaining elegant and easy to enjoy.
Six ink cartridges in an aluminium tin
Presented in a compact aluminium tin, the six
cartridges combine the heritage of French
ink-making with the convenience of everyday
writing.
They use the international standard short
cartridge format and are suitable for compatible
fountain pens, including appropriate Kaweco
models.
For anyone who enjoys writing in colour, Bleu
Calanque offers something beyond an ordinary blue:
a little of the Mediterranean, captured in ink.

What colour is Jacques Herbin Bleu Calanque?
Bleu Calanque is a luminous blue with a delicate
green undertone, inspired by the turquoise waters
of the Mediterranean coast in southern France.
How many cartridges are included?
Each aluminium tin contains six Bleu Calanque ink
cartridges.
Are these cartridges compatible with Kaweco fountain pens?
Yes. They use the international standard short
cartridge format and fit compatible
cartridge-filling Kaweco models, including PERKEO
and SPORT fountain pens.
Will these cartridges fit every fountain pen?
No. They are designed for pens that accept
international standard short cartridges. Some
fountain pens use proprietary cartridge systems.
Can I use them in a cartridge rollerball pen?
Yes, provided the rollerball pen is designed to
accept international standard short ink
cartridges.
Is Bleu Calanque blue or turquoise?
It is primarily blue, with a subtle green note
that gives it a turquoise-like appearance. The
shop therefore lists it under the Blue colour
filter.
Is Bleu Calanque suitable for handwritten correspondence?
Yes. Its fresh, expressive shade is particularly
attractive for letters, greeting cards and
personal notes.
Can I insert these cartridges into a glass dip pen?
No. The cartridges are intended for compatible
cartridge-filling writing instruments. The glass
dip pen shown in the photographs illustrates the
ink colour rather than cartridge compatibility.
Can the aluminium tin be reused?
Yes. The compact tin can be kept for storing
suitable small writing accessories once the
cartridges have been used.
