Jacques Herbin Vert Empire Ink Cartridges, 6-Pack
VERT EMPIRE. A GREEN WITH A HISTORY.
Not every remarkable colour needs to be bright.
Jacques Herbin Vert Empire has a quieter kind of
presence, combining muted olive green with an
earthy, slightly grey undertone.
It evokes the subtle beauty of aged materials,
laurel leaves and the refined atmosphere of
another era.
A MOMENT IN FRENCH HISTORY
The name Vert Empire refers to the French imperial
period and, more specifically, to the coronation
of Napoleon Bonaparte on 2 December 1804 at
Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris.
Napoleon placed the crown upon his own head before
crowning his wife Joséphine as empress. This
extraordinary historical occasion provides the
inspiration behind the ink's name.
THE CHARACTER OF THE COLOUR
Vert Empire sits somewhere between olive, moss and
muted grey-green. Rather than a vivid emerald
shade, it offers a more considered and
sophisticated interpretation of green.
Against white or cream stationery, the colour
feels distinctive yet understated, making it an
appealing alternative to traditional black and
blue inks.
FOR THOUGHTFUL HANDWRITING
Whether used for correspondence, invitations,
journaling or everyday notes, Vert Empire adds a
subtle sense of individuality to the written word.
Its appearance may shift slightly depending on the
paper, nib and lighting, revealing different
nuances of its olive-green character.
