🕯️ For those who love a good scent
Scent is a personal thing. I only buy one in if I would happily have it around me at home, and if it still holds its own after a few weeks. With a candle everything has to agree: the scent, the vessel and the mood it creates in a room. That is why scent makes such a good present. You are not giving somebody a candle, you are giving them an atmosphere.

MY RECOMMENDATION
If I could give away only one thing from this section, it would be the scented tablets. You slip them into a wardrobe or a car, and for weeks it smells of something you chose yourself. No wick, no flame, and still the whole Trudon scent.

I have always had a weakness for good paper, a proper pen and a notebook worth carrying. A pen is never just a pen. You can tell at once whether it sits well in the hand, whether the material is good and whether you will reach for it every day. A notebook is the same. The LUCI notebook is made in our own bindery. Skivertex, turned in by hand, with hot foil initials if you like. It is the one I give away most often, because it suits almost everybody.

I like French design for the way it puts elegance and ease together. When I am in Paris I take my time in the small shops, because that is where I come across things you do not see everywhere. And Le Bon Marché is always part of it: first a coffee at the espresso bar upstairs, in front of the stationery department, then I let myself drift. Often it is a colour, a material or one small detail that gives me an idea. Some of our own pieces began with exactly such a moment.

The MIMO tray by Albert L. comes from Paris. It sits on a chest of drawers or beside the bed and gathers up whatever would otherwise lie about: earrings, glasses, keys. Some things you only miss once you have had them.

Why Trixi Gronau
My father ran a printing house and a bindery; that was in 1963. The concept store followed in 1995. The two still belong together today: the shop, online and at our Hamburg atelier by appointment, and behind it the workshop where paper is stamped, cut and turned in by hand.
That is why I can tell you where every piece here comes from and why it was chosen. And it is why so much of it can be personalised with hot foil without ending up looking like a promotional item.
CHOSEN PERSONALLYEvery piece here was ordered by me, usually after a trade fair in Paris or Frankfurt.
OUR OWN BINDERYNotebooks, photo albums and cards are made in Hamburg-Lokstedt, and many of them can be stamped with initials or a name.
